Review: Hurricane Song

Miles decided to move in with his dad in New Orleans the summer that Hurricane Katrina struck. Miles, his dad and Uncle Roy had to wait out the storm in the Superdome. Conditions were horrendous, yet they made the best of it...playing music, helping neighbors, getting closer. Always, though, was the hope of returning home and life returning to normal. Hurricane Song wonderfully and vividly and realistically describes the horrors and joys that Miles and other hurricane evacuees endured. It is a book of hope, blending human conditions, music, faith and compassion. It is a must read for everyone, young and old.
